Bitcoin Price Dip: Whale Activity on Binance Fuels $110,000 Prediction

Bitcoin’s recent rejection at the $120,000 resistance level has sent ripples through the crypto market, prompting speculation about a potential drop to $110,000. This follows a significant surge in Bitcoin whale inflows to Binance, as highlighted by CryptoQuant data.

Analyst BorisVest noted a dramatic spike in the Binance Whale Inflow metric on July 25th, with a $1.2 billion increase in 30-day cumulative inflow. This coincided with the liquidation of approximately $141 million in BTC long positions, suggesting a substantial sell-off driven primarily by institutional investors.

While retail investor activity on exchanges has also increased, the volume remains significantly lower than the whale-driven inflows. This disparity points to a stronger influence of large-scale investors on the current market dynamics. The chart below visually demonstrates the contrast between relatively steady retail inflows and the sudden surge in whale deposits.

The rejection at $120,000 and subsequent retracement to the $115,000-$116,000 range have created a crucial short-term support level. Failure to hold this support could accelerate a decline towards $110,000, according to BorisVest. Conversely, a strong bounce from this area could lead to another attempt at reaching $121,000 or even establishing a new all-time high.

Adding to the bearish sentiment, Bitcoin reserves on centralized exchanges recently reached a one-month high. This suggests some holders might anticipate a temporary pullback or consolidation. However, Binance’s increased share of BTC spot trading volume offers a potential counterpoint, hinting at a possible upcoming rally.

Fellow analyst Titan of Crypto adds that a decisive break above $119,900 could signal new all-time highs. The near-term price trajectory, therefore, appears heavily dependent on how effectively the market absorbs this recent wave of whale selling.

As of this writing, Bitcoin is trading at $118,926, up 0.4% in the last 24 hours. The situation remains highly dynamic, underscoring the need for close market monitoring.
