Bitcoin Consolidates Around $90,000: What’s Next for BTC?
Following its recent surge, Bitcoin’s price has settled around the $90,000 mark, experiencing a period of consolidation. While the cryptocurrency has seen remarkable growth in the past few weeks, some analysts speculate that a minor correction might be in order.
BTC initially broke through the $88,000 resistance level, pushing towards a new all-time high of $89,852. The price is now trading above both $86,500 and the 100-hour Simple Moving Average, suggesting a potential continuation of the upward trend.
On the hourly chart, a connecting bullish trend line has emerged, providing support at $85,200. Should Bitcoin maintain its position above this level, a continuation of the bullish momentum is possible.
Bitcoin Price Sets New All-Time High, Consolidates Gains
Bitcoin’s recent rise has been fueled by a confluence of factors, including increasing institutional interest and a growing belief in its potential as a store of value.
Despite the recent all-time high, the market appears to be in a state of consolidation. While a minor decline below $88,500 was observed, the price remains well above the 23.6% Fib retracement level of the upward move from the $78,555 swing low to the $89,852 high.
Potential Upward and Downward Movement
On the upside, resistance levels are expected around $88,500, $89,200, and $90,000. A decisive break above the $89,200 resistance could propel Bitcoin towards $92,000 and even $100,000 in the longer term.
However, if Bitcoin fails to breach the $88,500 resistance, a downward correction may occur. Immediate support on the downside is near the $87,150 level. Further support levels can be found at $84,500, $82,000, and $80,500.
Technical Indicators
The hourly MACD is losing momentum in the bullish zone, while the hourly RSI (Relative Strength Index) is above the 80 level, indicating overbought conditions.
