Bitcoin Price Consolidation: Crucial Support Levels to Watch

Bitcoin (BTC) has exhibited a period of sideways trading, with minimal price fluctuations in the last 24 hours. Following a recent rejection around the $110,000 mark, BTC has failed to decisively break out of a descending consolidation pattern, fueling concerns about the prevailing bull market. Amidst this uncertainty, renowned market analyst, Ali Martinez, has pinpointed two key support levels that could significantly impact Bitcoin’s short-term trajectory.

On-Chain Data Highlights Key Support Zones

In a recent X post (July 5th), Ali Martinez leveraged In/Out Money Around Price (IOMAP) data from Sentora to identify substantial support zones. IOMAP analysis examines Bitcoin wallet addresses and their average acquisition prices, revealing areas of potential buying or selling pressure. This data provides insights into whether holders are currently ‘in the money’ (profit) or ‘out of the money’ (loss).

The analysis revealed a significant concentration of addresses that acquired BTC between $104,982 and $108,190. These 1.68 million addresses collectively hold 1.28 million BTC, with an average acquisition price of $106,738. This large cluster of addresses represents a strong potential support zone around $106,700, as holders may actively defend their positions from slipping into the red.

A second crucial support level is identified between $95,247 and $98,566, where 1.7 million addresses hold 1.25 million BTC, with an average acquisition price of $96,901. Should Bitcoin fall below the $106,000 level, this lower range could absorb significant downward pressure. However, a decisive close below $96,901 could indicate a more bearish market sentiment.

Bitcoin Market Overview: Bullish or Bearish?

According to the IOMAP chart, a significant 89.36% of all BTC addresses are currently ‘in the money,’ suggesting a prevailing bullish sentiment among market participants. The relatively low percentage of addresses ‘out of the money’ (10.36%) indicates a reduced risk of widespread panic selling, unless the crucial support levels identified above are breached.

At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $108,154, showing a minor 0.24% increase over the past day. Daily trading volume has decreased by 27.09%, currently standing at $31.04 billion.
