Bitcoin’s Measured Ascent: A $10K Staircase to $115K?
Bitcoin’s recent price action has captivated traders, exhibiting a fascinating pattern. After a significant drop from its January peak, Bitcoin has steadily climbed, seemingly in increments of roughly $10,000, followed by periods of consolidation. This methodical rise has fueled speculation of a potential push towards $115,000.
Analyst Trader Tardigrade highlights this pattern, noting the consistent $10,000 jumps from $75,000 to $85,000, then to $95,000, and finally to its recent high above $105,000. Each surge has been punctuated by seven to ten days of sideways trading, giving investors opportunities to adjust their positions.

This stair-step progression suggests a controlled and measured approach, rather than a volatile surge. These consolidation periods offer support levels where buyers can re-enter, potentially solidifying Bitcoin’s upward momentum.
Maintaining a price above the crucial $100,000 mark provides significant psychological support. This sustained presence instills confidence among investors, making them more comfortable with buying and holding. While recent weekly gains have been modest (around 0.5%), this follows a robust 11% surge earlier in May. This measured growth is viewed by some as a healthier indicator of long-term stability.
Looking further ahead, CryptoCon, who employs long-term cyclical models like the Golden Ratio Multiplier, predicts a significantly higher peak. While a major cycle level was already achieved in March 2024, they believe that wasn’t the ultimate top. Based on this model, the next ceiling could reach approximately $160,000, a potential 50% increase from current levels.
This long-term outlook draws parallels to the 2015-2017 period, which also featured extended periods of consolidation preceding a substantial rally. This measured climb currently observed in Bitcoin could signal a similar trajectory, hinting at a potentially explosive future.
