Bitcoin’s Short-Term Holder Floor Strengthens, Fueling Bullish Outlook
After a brief dip to nearly $98,000 over the weekend, Bitcoin (BTC) has rebounded, currently trading above $107,000. Recent on-chain data reveals a significant development: the short-term holder (STH) floor is steadily climbing towards the crucial $100,000 mark.
Bitcoin STH Floor Nears $100,000
According to CryptoQuant data, Bitcoin’s STH Realized Price is steadily approaching the psychologically significant $100,000 level. This metric, representing the average acquisition price of BTC held for less than 155 days, acts as a critical support level. A price above this level signifies STH profitability and confidence; a price below it often triggers selling pressure and fear.
Currently hovering around $98,000, each $500 increase in the STH Realized Price effectively resets the comfort level for new buyers, pushing their mental stop-loss higher. The chart below clearly shows BTC’s sharp rebounds after touching the STH Realized Price line, suggesting a bullish pattern where selling pressure eases as BTC approaches its average cost basis.
The premium – the difference between BTC’s spot price and the STH Realized Price – is currently around 7.2%. Historically, a shrinking premium (typically under 10%) has indicated reduced market exuberance and often precedes further price increases once open interest recovers.
Long-Term Holders Remain Steady
Meanwhile, the long-term holder (LTH) Realized Price remains stable at roughly $32,000 – about one-third of the STH Realized Price. These long-term coins, likely held in cold storage, signify strong hands with limited incentive to sell.
Expert Predictions and Technical Analysis
With the STH Realized Price rising and creating a higher floor, several crypto experts anticipate a new all-time high (ATH) for Bitcoin in the coming months. Technical analysis, such as the bullish inverse head and shoulders pattern forming on the three-day chart, suggests a potential ATH as high as $150,000.
In conclusion, the strengthening STH floor, coupled with expert predictions and positive technical indicators, paints a bullish picture for Bitcoin. The upward trend appears to be solidifying, but staying above the STH Realized Price remains critical for maintaining the momentum.
