Ethereum Price Prediction: Can ETH Bulls Break Through Resistance?

Ethereum (ETH) has recently experienced a period of volatility, with prices fluctuating significantly. After a dip below the $4,550 support, a recovery attempt is underway, but several hurdles remain. The $4,420 level currently acts as a significant resistance point. This follows a previous struggle to reclaim the $4,500 mark. Technical analysis reveals the price trading below both $4,500 and the 100-hourly Simple Moving Average (SMA).

A critical bearish trend line, with resistance at approximately $4,430 (Kraken data), is also hindering upward momentum. A decisive close above $4,450 could, however, trigger a substantial price increase. Prior to this recent attempt, Ethereum followed Bitcoin’s lead, rebounding from a low of $4,220. This recovery surpassed the $4,280 and $4,320 resistance levels and also the 50% Fibonacci retracement level of the recent decline from $4,491 to $4,213.

While a base appears to be forming above $4,200, bearish pressure persists above the $4,400 zone. Currently, ETH trades below $4,450 and the 100-hourly SMA. Resistance levels are anticipated near $4,385 (the 61.8% Fib retracement level), $4,400, and the aforementioned trend line. Breaking through the $4,430 resistance is crucial; success could propel the price towards $4,500, potentially reaching $4,550 or even $4,580.

Potential for Further Decline

Conversely, failure to overcome the $4,430 resistance may lead to renewed downward pressure. Support levels are situated near $4,320, $4,250, $4,200, and $4,160, with a significant support area at $4,120. A sustained move below $4,250 could accelerate these losses.

Technical Indicators

The hourly MACD is showing bullish momentum, while the hourly RSI remains above the 50 level, indicating a relatively strong upward trend.

Summary

The short-term outlook for Ethereum remains uncertain. While a recovery is in progress, significant resistance levels pose challenges. Traders should closely monitor the $4,430 resistance level. A successful break above it would significantly strengthen the bullish outlook. Conversely, failure to overcome this resistance could trigger further declines.
