Ethereum Price Prediction: Will ETH Plunge to $1,550 or Rally 20%?

Ethereum (ETH) has experienced a significant downturn, plummeting 17% in the last month and trading below $1,850. This bearish trend has sparked concerns among investors, with analysts predicting a potential drop to 17-month lows if key resistance levels aren’t reclaimed.

Ethereum’s Critical Juncture: $1,550 Looms

For the past two days, ETH has struggled to maintain support between $1,750 and $1,840, failing to recapture the $1,900 mark. This follows a break below the $2,100 level in early March, marking its lowest price since December 2023 and its worst seven-year performance. This breakdown confirmed a double top formation, pushing ETH into a historical liquidity pool between $1,640 and $1,930.

Analyst Rekt Capital highlights the potential for a bearish retest of this range. Historically, failure to turn the upper bound of this range into support has resulted in drops to the lower bound ($1,550). Reclaiming the upper bound, however, is crucial for a potential rebound towards the previous macro range low of $2,196.

A Glimpse of Hope: Potential 20% Rally?

Despite the bearish outlook, there’s a possibility of a significant bullish reversal. Rekt Capital notes that ETH’s dominance has fallen from 20% to 8% since June 2023, a historically low point. Past instances of ETH dominance reaching this level have resulted in a reversal, potentially indicating a resurgence for the ‘King of Altcoins’.

Analyst Sjuul from AltCryptoGems suggests a 20% rally based on a ‘Power of 3’ setup. This suggests a potential breakout from the current manipulation phase, pushing ETH towards the $2,150 resistance.

Key Levels to Watch

Analysts emphasize the importance of the $1,750 support and $2,100 resistance levels. Breaking above $2,100 suggests bullish momentum, while a break below $1,750 indicates further downside potential.

As of this writing, Ethereum trades around $1,808. The coming days will be critical in determining whether ETH will succumb to the bearish pressure and drop to $1,550, or if a bullish reversal will lead to a substantial price increase.
