Ethereum’s Stunning Ascent: Could $4,200 Be Next?
Ethereum has surged past the $3,000 mark, igniting excitement among analysts. This impressive 17% gain in just seven days, reaching a high of $3,065, follows significant institutional interest fueled by Spot Ethereum ETF inflows and Bitcoin’s recent record highs. But the real story lies in the emerging technical patterns suggesting even greater gains are on the horizon.
A ‘Cup and Handle’ Pattern Emerges
Prominent analyst @CryptosBatman on X has identified a classic ‘cup and handle’ pattern on Ethereum’s daily chart. This bullish formation, spanning four months from a low of $1,400, shows a breakout above the neckline around $2,850. This technical projection points towards a potential 45% surge, targeting a price near $4,200.
This bullish technical setup is complemented by strong fundamentals. Ethereum’s outperformance of Bitcoin and the eight-year low in exchange reserves signal reduced selling pressure and robust investor confidence. These factors combine to create a compelling case for Ethereum potentially breaking its all-time high before Q3 concludes, according to @CryptosBatman.
Weekly Chart Echoes Past Success
Adding to the bullish narrative, analyst CryptoBullet highlighted Ethereum’s weekly chart. The massive green breakout candle above the $2,850 resistance mirrors a previous surge between February and March 2024, which resulted in a 42% rally. If history repeats, Ethereum could once again reach $4,200 within the next three to four weeks.
This projection hinges on the $2,800 level, which has transitioned from resistance to strong support, preventing significant pullbacks. Currently trading around $2,980, Ethereum’s momentum suggests a potential continuation of this upward trend.
