MicroStrategy’s Massive Bitcoin Buy: $1.42 Billion Investment at $90K+

MicroStrategy significantly bolstered its Bitcoin holdings last week, capitalizing on the cryptocurrency’s surge above $90,000. In a press release dated April 28th, the company announced the acquisition of 15,355 Bitcoin (BTC) between April 21st and 27th.

This latest purchase cost MicroStrategy $1.42 billion, representing an average price of $92,737 per BTC. This acquisition increased the company’s total BTC holdings to 535,555, valued at over $50 billion, a roughly 3% increase. The transaction marks MicroStrategy’s largest Bitcoin purchase since late March, when they acquired 22,048 BTC for $1.92 billion.

MicroStrategy co-founder Michael Saylor revealed on X that the firm’s year-to-date Bitcoin yield reached 13.7%. He stated, “As of April 27, we hold 553,555 BTC acquired for approximately $37.90 billion at $68,459 per Bitcoin.”

Following a 74% BTC yield in 2024, MicroStrategy projects a 15% yield for 2025. This significant investment underscores MicroStrategy’s continued commitment to Bitcoin as a long-term asset.
