Stacks Asia expands Bitcoin initiatives with Abu Dhabi partnership

The Stacks Asia DLT Foundation has made history as the first Bitcoin-based organization to establish a formal presence in the Middle East. This strategic move aims to significantly accelerate institutional Bitcoin adoption through enhanced educational programs and collaborative initiatives.

Partnering with the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), a globally recognized financial powerhouse, Stacks Asia seeks to propel the adoption of its Bitcoin (BTC) layer-2 (L2) solution across the Middle East and Asia. This collaboration is expected to generate substantial growth within the region.

According to an official announcement, this partnership will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Bitcoin’s programmability and wider adoption. The initiative will focus on educational programs and dedicated support for Bitcoin developers.

Kyle Ellicott, Executive Director at Stacks Asia DLT Foundation, highlights that this collaboration with ADGM will simplify institutional and investor participation in the thriving Bitcoin economy, simultaneously setting new standards for regulatory clarity and technological advancement within the burgeoning global Bitcoin capital market.

“Stacks and ADGM represent a potent synergy for accelerating Bitcoin adoption throughout the Middle East and Asia,” Ellicott emphasizes. He further explains that ADGM’s standing as a premier global financial hub, renowned for its focus on capital and innovation, makes it an ideal partner for this ambitious undertaking. The foundation will launch educational programs, cultivate regional developer communities, and foster opportunities for real-world applications built on Bitcoin.

Beginning in May, a series of live and virtual events will empower institutions with the knowledge to seamlessly integrate Bitcoin into their operations. Participants will also explore the vast potential of productive Bitcoin capital.

Stacks Foundation champions progressive global Bitcoin regulation

Stacks, recognized as a leading Bitcoin scalability solution, is actively advocating for progressive global regulations that solidify Bitcoin’s role in shaping the future of finance. This involves actively engaging in global dialogues and promoting regulatory frameworks that successfully balance decentralization, security, innovation, and compliance. A central aspect of this involves knowledge-sharing with regulatory bodies to foster a deeper understanding of Bitcoin’s attributes and its potential economic effects.

The foundation is currently developing the Bitcoin Capital Activation Framework, a comprehensive policy guide designed to assist regulators in unlocking Bitcoin’s utility within their respective jurisdictions. Furthermore, the Bitcoin Policy Bridge, a collaborative working group connecting regulators from key Middle Eastern and Asian jurisdictions, will launch in May.

In February, ADGM and the Solana Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding to advance the development of distributed ledger technology.
