Tether’s USD₮ Arrives on Kaia, Expanding Reach to LINE’s Massive User Base

In a significant move for stablecoin adoption, Tether has integrated its flagship USD₮ onto the Kaia blockchain. This collaboration with LINE Next, the Web3 division of the popular messaging app LINE, unlocks access for LINE’s extensive network of over 196 million monthly active users.
This integration seamlessly integrates USD₮ (USDT) into LINE’s Mini DApp ecosystem and its self-custodial wallet. LINE users can now effortlessly interact with stablecoins within a familiar interface, facilitating a smoother transition into the world of Web3.
The practical applications are numerous. Users will leverage USD₮ for in-app purchases, international transfers, and participation in decentralized finance (DeFi) activities, all within the LINE ecosystem.
“This partnership provides over 200 million LINE users with an intuitive way to interact with digital assets in their daily lives,” stated Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, highlighting Tether’s commitment to broadening stablecoin accessibility across Asia and beyond.

Seamless USDT Transfers via In-App Wallet
Initially, users will experience USDT rewards within Mini DApps and peer-to-peer transfers via LINE’s in-app wallet. Future developments promise to expand stablecoin functionalities across various app layers.
Kaia’s blockchain, powering LINE’s Mini DApps, offers rapid transactions with immediate finality, making it ideally suited for stablecoin operations, according to Kaia DLT Foundation chair Sam Seo. This collaboration aims to provide users with an unparalleled user experience across LINE, DeFi platforms, and centralized exchanges.
LINE Next CEO Youngsu Ko emphasized that this integration creates a user-friendly “dollar-based gateway” to Web3 services, increasing accessibility for everyday consumers.
With over 149.4 billion tokens in circulation (CoinMarketCap), Tether’s USDT maintains its position as the leading stablecoin. Recent activity includes a $1 billion USD₮ minting on the Tron network (May 5th), bringing its total to $71.4 billion, slightly below the $72.8 billion circulating on Ethereum.
Further strengthening its commitment to compliance, Tether announced a partnership with Chainalysis on May 6th, integrating compliance monitoring tools into its tokenization platform.
