Trump-Linked Crypto Venture’s Massive LINK Purchase Fuels 40% Price Surge
The cryptocurrency market experienced a significant jolt Monday as Chainlink (LINK) prices skyrocketed following a massive token acquisition by World Liberty Financial (WLFI), the crypto venture with ties to President Donald Trump. Reports surfaced detailing WLFI’s rapid purchase of 220,000 LINK tokens within a mere 15 minutes, totaling a staggering $5.63 million, as confirmed by prominent Chinese crypto reporter Wu Blockchain. This wasn’t an isolated event. WLFI simultaneously purchased significant holdings of other cryptocurrencies, including Aave (AAVE) and TRON (TRX), further intensifying market activity. This buying spree contributed to a remarkable 44% increase in LINK’s price over a two-week period, with a more immediate surge of over 11% within 24 hours. While impressive, LINK’s current price, hovering just above $26, remains approximately 49% below its all-time high of $52.70 reached during the 2021 bull run. WLFI publicized the acquisitions on X (formerly Twitter), stating the purchases commemorated a significant event. The post detailed additional substantial investments in Ethereum (ETH), wrapped Bitcoin (wBTC), AAVE, TRX, and Ethena (ENA).
Could Chainlink Double in Value?
The Trump family’s involvement in the crypto space has ignited considerable excitement among LINK investors. Analysts are weighing in, with some, like Michael van de Poppe, pointing to LINK’s recent 30% correction—a pattern he’s observed over 15 times in previous cycles—as a potential precursor to a price move towards $35. Adding fuel to the bullish sentiment, market expert Ali Martinez noted a significant withdrawal of over 770,000 LINK tokens from exchanges on Tuesday, signaling growing investor confidence. Satoshi Flipper echoed this optimism, highlighting a falling wedge pattern that could propel LINK towards its all-time high, even suggesting a potential doubling from current levels. Flipper stressed Chainlink’s crucial role in the crypto ecosystem. Furthermore, Aixbt’s analysis of LINK’s monthly Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 67, nearing the crucial 70 level that previously triggered a massive 375% price surge, adds another layer to the bullish narrative. This suggests the possibility of a price surge similar to the one that took LINK from $3.50 to $20, potentially pushing its price to $124.80.
